Akima, LLC is looking for a skilled Welder Job In Canada to join its Truestone team. The welder will fabricate and repair metal components for equipment, machinery, and structural parts using different welding techniques. This role requires technical welding skills, the ability to read blueprints, and adherence to safety standards while working with various metals and tools.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and annual physical examinations.
  • Must be able to work first, second, or third shift.
  • Certified under American Welding Society (AWS) standards or able to obtain certification within 60 days.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams.
  • Ability to work in confined or awkward positions and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and climbing.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Skills

  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding processes.
  • Experience with gas welding, brazing, thermal cutting, and grinding.
  • Ability to weld different metals such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and copper.
  • Knowledge of shielded arc, plasma arc, and oxygen/acetylene cutting methods.
  • Ability to repair cracks and damaged metal components.
  • Strong attention to precision and quality standards.
  • Ability to adjust machines for welding metals of different thicknesses and shapes.
