Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Thermite Welding experience in a railroad or heavy industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of Thermite Welding processes and procedures
- Experience with oxygen/propane cutting and preheating techniques
- Certification in Contractor Orientation, E-Rail Safe, and Railway Maintenance Machine Operation
- Experience in railroad track work such as cutting, measuring, replacing, and restoring rails
- Ability to follow safety rules and company regulations
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 75 lbs)
- Willingness to work in outdoor and harsh weather conditions
Skills
- Good communication skills to coordinate with the Thermite Welder
- Ability to identify equipment faults and report issues promptly
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of track maintenance tasks (spiking, anchoring, surfacing)
- Ability to operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently
