We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Dairy Farm Assistant Job In New Zeland to join a large-scale dairy operation in Ashburton, Canterbury. This full-time permanent role is ideal for someone with basic dairy farming experience who wants to grow their skills in a supportive and hands-on farm environment.
About the Company
Black Sands Immigration Consulting Ltd recruits for reputable agricultural employers across New Zealand. This opportunity is based on a modern and well-equipped dairy farm located near Ashburton.
The farm spans 420 hectares and milks around 1,450 cows using advanced technology, including:
- 80-bail rotary milking shed
- Automatic cup removers and teat sprayers
- In-shed feeding systems
- Protrack and lameness detection tools
- Cow collars for heat detection and health monitoring
The farm operates a 3-in-2 milking system and conducts twice-yearly calving (spring and autumn), making it a progressive and efficient farming operation.
Requirements
- Previous dairy farming experience preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
- Physically fit and capable of handling farm duties
- Must currently be based in New Zealand
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug testing and character checks
