Ledwood Mechanical Engineering Ltd is seeking experienced Plate Welders Job in UK to join our team working onsite at Hinkley Point C. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects within the Arabelle steam turbine buildings, installing major equipment ranging from 2Te pumps to a 2,440Te condenser.

Key Requirements
- Valid MMA / MIG welder codings with TIG experience
- Qualified to ISO welding standards
- Proven experience in industrial or heavy engineering environments
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship in Welding or Engineering
- Valid CCNSG Safety Passport (essential)
- Ability to pass site security clearance (BPSS including DBS and ID checks)
- Must provide Competency Certificates and Right to Work documentation (UK)
- Willingness to complete required weld tests prior to employment
- Ability to attend testing locations (Pembrokeshire / Teesside) and Bridgwater College
Welding Qualifications (Not Limited To)
- Butt weld – 2” carbon steel pipe weld – 6G position (TIG/MMA)
- Fillet weld – 2” carbon steel pipe to plate – horizontal position (TIG/MMA/MIG)
- 2” stainless steel pipe weld – 6G position (TIG/MMA)
Skills
- High-level technical welding capability (plate and pipe)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong knowledge of site safety standards and procedures
- Precision and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Good communication skills
Working Hours & Pay
- 10 hours per day
- 10 days on / 4 days off rotation
- £29.34 basic hourly rate + potential £2.94 bonus
- Overtime payable after 38 hours
- Rates in line with Grade 5 ECSA Site Agreement
- PAYE – Weekly paid only
