Nabors Industries is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Level 1 Welder Job In Mexico to join its operations supporting drilling rig activities, including assignments in Alaska and the North Slope. The successful candidate must pass a 6G (Stick) welding qualification test and demonstrate the ability to fabricate, fit, and weld complex structural assemblies used in drilling rigs and oilfield equipment. This role requires strong technical welding expertise, physical endurance, and a firm commitment to workplace safety.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass 6G (Stick) welding qualification test.
- Must complete FCAW 6G welding test (retest required within 90 days if initially unsuccessful).
- Minimum 1–3 years welding experience on drilling rigs and associated equipment.
- (Preferred) 10+ years welding experience on drilling rigs.
- Certifications for welding structural steel such as Grade 50 and 4130.
- Valid Driver’s License (Real ID compliant) suitable for travel to Alaska and the North Slope.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and fitness-for-duty testing.
- Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours on steel surfaces.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and squat for extended periods.
- Capable of overhead grinding and hammering.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs (25–50 steps multiple times daily), and work at heights (6+ feet).
- Lift and carry heavy objects throughout shifts.
- Maintain balance and coordination in physically demanding environments.
Skills
- Proficiency in SMAW (Stick), GTAW (TIG), and FCAW welding processes.
- Ability to weld in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
- Experience fabricating structural components such as beams, mast parts, substructures, and oilfield skid assemblies.
- Skilled in:
- Oxy-acetylene cutting
- Air Carbon Arc Gouging
- Tack welding and full structural welding
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
- Use of measuring tools such as calipers, straightedges, combination squares, and measuring tape.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in welding operations.
