Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily dairy farm operations, including feeding, milking, and livestock health monitoring
- Ensure proper care, hygiene, and welfare of dairy cattle at all times
- Oversee maintenance of barns, equipment, and farm facilities
- Manage herd breeding and reproductive programs
- Develop and implement feeding schedules and nutrition plans
- Maintain accurate records of milk production, herd health, and farm performance
- Train, guide, and supervise junior stockmen and farm staff
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations and farm policies
- Coordinate with veterinarians and agricultural specialists
- Assist in budgeting, inventory control, and resource planning
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in dairy farming or a senior stockman role
- Strong knowledge of dairy cattle management, breeding, and nutrition
- Proven ability to manage farm operations and supervise staff
- Willingness to work long hours in a farm environment
- Certification or diploma in Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience using farm management or livestock tracking software
