Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, assign, and supervise the work of livestock workers, machinery operators, and general farm labourers
- Supervise breeding and other livestock-related programs
- Monitor and enforce procedures to maintain animal and crop health and welfare
- Oversee growing and crop-related operations, including grain production
- Tap trees in all weather conditions (maple syrup operations)
- Move products during winter months and prepare shipments
- Supervise maintenance of farm infrastructure, equipment, and supplies
- Ensure farm cleanliness and proper equipment care
- Enforce farm safety procedures and regulations
- Perform general farm duties as required
- Carry out other related tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Punctual and reliable
- Strong attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license (asset)
- Ability to drive farm machinery (asset)
- Mechanical knowledge (asset)
- Comfortable working with small animals
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Willing to work evenings and weekends when required
- Able to work in all weather conditions
