An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and passionate General Farm Worker Job in New Zealand to join the Invermay research farm team. This role supports livestock management and research trials involving sheep, deer, and cattle. Working closely with farm and science teams, the successful candidate will contribute to high-quality research delivery while maintaining excellent farming standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with livestock management, including sheep, deer, and cattle trial work
  • Support intensive lambing operations, including fully recorded lambing events
  • Work closely with science teams to implement and maintain research trials according to protocol
  • Conduct general farm maintenance (weed spraying, pasture topping, fencing repairs)
  • Maintain field resources to ensure trials meet design standards
  • Uphold good farming practices and safe work procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of previous farm experience
  • Strong knowledge of animal health, stock handling, and recording systems
  • Experience with TruTest (advantageous)
  • Experience with fully recorded lambing beats or willingness to learn
  • Current full driver’s licence
  • Ability to work safely and follow workplace health and safety practices
