SGS Oman is seeking a highly qualified Multi Discipline Inspector – Welding & Painting Job in Oman to support inspection activities within Oil & Gas projects, particularly during critical shutdown operations. This role requires a seasoned inspection professional with strong technical expertise, prior PDO approval, and the ability to perform under extreme time constraints while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of inspection experience in construction industries
- At least 4 years of experience in Oil & Gas facility construction
- Proven experience in Oil & Gas shutdown projects (minimum 2 shutdowns)
- Previous PDO approval is mandatory
- Ability to work under extreme time pressure and harsh site conditions
- Strong understanding of local and international inspection codes and standards
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or Metallurgy
Required Skills
- Welding inspection and coating/painting inspection expertise
- Shutdown inspection planning and execution
- Interpretation of engineering drawings, ITPs, WPS, PQR, and standards
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, AWS, NACE, etc.)
- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) coordination and evaluation
- Excellent reporting, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in high-pressure environments
- Strong safety awareness and compliance mindset
Certifications
- CSWIP 3.1 or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent
- ASNT / PCN Level II certification in RT, PT, MT, and UT
- BGAS Level 2 or NACE CIP Level 2 (or equivalent) for coating inspection
