It serves thousands of seniors, people with disabilities, and the rural general public. Currently, OATS Transit is hiring drivers throughout Missouri. Drivers may be assigned to mini-vans, Ford Transits, or a wide-body bus.

Driver Responsibilities
As an OATS Transit driver, you will:
- First, treat riders with respect, dignity, and courtesy. Drivers must assist all riders on and off the bus.
- Next, safely secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices. You must also follow all applicable procedures.
- In addition, keep the assigned OATS vehicle and equipment clean and in excellent condition.
- Then, conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Report any issues for repair.
- Also, use the in-vehicle tablet to receive trip information and updates. Validate pick-up and drop-off times.
- After that, complete the required paperwork. Submit it to the regional office in a timely manner.
- Finally, attend routine paid training and comply with all federal, state, and company rules and regulations.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- First, you must be at least 23 years old.
- A Class E or CDL license is required, with no more than 4 points assessed.
- You must be able to pass a U.S. DOT physical and road test.
- You must pass drug screening and undergo random drug and alcohol testing.
- You must be bondable.
- In addition, every driver must use a computer tablet in the vehicle. Therefore, computer experience is a plus.
- You must have a proactive, helpful, can-do attitude. You must also be flexible with different schedules and routes.
- You must be neat, organized, and able to work independently.
- Finally, this is an active job with many physical demands. These include sitting, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying. You must be able to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds.
