Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care, feeding, and hydration of swine
- Monitor animal health and report signs of illness
- Assist in breeding programs, including artificial insemination
- Maintain sanitation and disinfect housing facilities
- Administer vaccinations and treatments
- Handle and move animals with minimal stress
- Maintain accurate records (health, breeding, production)
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and repairs
- Assist in piglet processing (tail docking, castration)
- Support general farm operations and barn management
Requirements
- Basic education with reading, math, and computer skills
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly (occasionally more with assistance)
- Comfortable working in confined livestock environments
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Attention to cleanliness and biosecurity protocols
